The Vortex Side-Tooth Steam Seal features a vortex chamber on the steam seal body. Small teeth are machined inside the vortex chamber. The high teeth on the steam seal ring are machined as side teeth, while the low teeth are machined as inclined turbulence teeth. High-temperature, high-pressure steam enters the first vortex chamber, where a large vortex is formed. The vortex steam collides with the straight-flow steam entering the steam seal, thereby weakening the kinetic energy of the straight-flow steam and achieving effective sealing performance. After passing through the first vortex chamber, the steam flows through the inclined turbulence teeth and side teeth. Due to the fact that the frictional resistance of the side teeth and inclined turbulence teeth is greater than that of conventional labyrinth teeth, the kinetic energy of the steam is further reduced through the frictional resistance effect. The steam that has passed through the side teeth and inclined turbulence teeth then enters the final vortex chamber, where a large vortex is formed. The vortex steam continues to collide with the straight-flow steam, further weakening its kinetic energy and providing the final sealing function.
